2022 As I walked into Habibi Centre on my first day, I took my shoes off and placed them neatly with the collection of shoes in the entryway. The teachers were sitting on the couches getting ready for the weekly Monday meeting. The atmosphere felt like home, it was full of warmth and positivity and I immediately felt like an important member of the Habibi team. During my time at Habibi Centre, I taught two wonderful classes. The students were creative, curious, and thoughtful and were always eager to learn. Teaching these two classes also inspired me to take an ESL course when I got back home to Toronto and I hope to continue teaching English in the future. Habibi Centre is full of the most incredible people and will always hold a special place in my heart.
